Tennis integrity unit bans player until 2050 over fixing ring
The ITIA imposed a deemed sanction after Milićević ignored seven contact attempts.
The hit
The International Tennis Integrity Agency has banned Serbian player Stefan Milićević for 24 years, the agency said. Milićević, 29, was charged with fixing six matches & attempting to fix six more between 2022 & 2024, plus recruiting or attempting to recruit other professional players into a corrupt network.
Why it matters
The ban effectively ends Milićević’s career. The case shows the ITIA pursuing recruiters, not just players who fix their own matches, & applying a deemed sanction when a player refuses to engage with an investigation at all.
The record
| Suspension length | 24 years (ITIA) |
|---|---|
| Fine | $70,000 (ITIA) |
| Suspension dates | 9 October 2026 to 8 October 2050 |
| Career-high ranking | World No. 1338, August 2014 |
| ITIA contact attempts ignored | 7, across multiple channels |
What happens next
Milićević is barred from playing, coaching at or attending any event sanctioned by World Tennis, the WTA, ATP, the Grand Slams or any national association.
