DraftKings & FanDuel lead $17.6m Nebraska betting vote push
The amendment would steer 70% of online betting tax revenue into property tax relief.
The hit
Four sportsbooks have poured $17,575,000 into the Tax Relief Nebraska campaign since July, according to campaign finance filings. Nebraskans vote 3 November on two ballot questions that would legalise online sports betting in the state. DraftKings & Fanatics alone added nearly $3m in the final fortnight.
Why it matters
Nebraska is the last state with a realistic shot at legalising online sports betting in 2026, according to Sports Betting Dime. A win unlocks a market licensed facilities could run through up to two online platforms each, either on their own technology or with partners such as DraftKings or FanDuel.
The record
| Contributions received, 28 July to 29 Sept 2026 | $14,650,000 (campaign finance filings) |
|---|---|
| DraftKings contribution | $9,537,500 |
| FanDuel contribution | $7,037,500 |
| Projected year-one gross gaming revenue | $86.6m (Eilers & Krejcik) |
| Five-year property tax relief funding projected | $60.9m (Eilers & Krejcik) |
What happens next
Nebraska voters decide both the constitutional amendment & regulatory initiative. If passed, sports betting rules must be approved by 1 June 2027.
