DraftKings & FanDuel pour $10.4m each into Nebraska vote
Opponents backed by state auditor Mike Foley say promised property tax relief is a false promise.
The hit
Nebraska voters decide Tuesday whether online sports betting becomes legal in the state, with two ballot initiatives that both must pass. DraftKings & FanDuel have each contributed $10.4m to the Tax Relief Nebraska campaign, according to Sports Betting Dime. BetMGM & Fanatics have also backed the push.
Why it matters
A yes vote would let licensed Nebraska gaming facilities each run up to two online sportsbooks, via their own tech or a partner like DraftKings or FanDuel. Backers point to projected tax relief funded by 70% of online sports betting tax revenues, earmarked for a property tax credit fund. Opponents, whose supporters include state auditor Mike Foley, call that promise false & warn of aggressive marketing reaching young people.
The record
| Campaign contributions raised | $22.5m+ to Tax Relief Nebraska, July 28-Oct 29 2026 (Sports Betting Dime) |
